Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5 model is now available within GitHub Copilot. Designed for complex, multi-step coding tasks, the model provides autonomous code changes, regression verification, and enhanced security safeguards against high-harm cyber content. It is available to users on Copilot Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise plans across various development environments, including Visual Studio Code, JetBrains, and mobile platforms. Administrators of Business and Enterprise plans must enable the model in their settings.
GitHub has launched a generally available Copilot cloud agent integration for Linear. Users can now assign Linear issues directly to the Copilot cloud agent, which analyzes tasks, creates draft pull requests in ephemeral environments, and provides progress updates within the Linear interface. The integration supports custom agent configurations, model selection, and branch management, allowing users to steer tasks through comments. The feature is available for Copilot Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise customers.
