Mission Systems Awarded AUKUS Maritime Innovation Challenge Funding
Mission Systems has been selected as one of three Australian organizations to receive funding through the AUKUS Maritime Innovation Challenge. The company is developing an ultra-long-range underwater acoustic communication system that utilizes an embedded computer to dynamically adapt communication strategies based on the oceanographic environment. The technology will be integrated into the firm's Macrura AUV to demonstrate enhanced command and control capabilities. This initiative is supported by the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA), the UK's Defence Innovation, and the US Defense Innovation Unit.
Mission Systems engineer Jared Silberman won the pitch competition at the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) Pitch Day held in Sydney. Silberman presented the company's Nautilus technology, an AI-enabled acoustic surveillance system designed for deployment by human operators or autonomous underwater vehicles. The recognition highlights the company's progress in sovereign acoustic data collection and processing capabilities suitable for Australian Defence applications.
