GitHub has updated its MCP Server to support the upcoming stateless MCP specification, which is scheduled for release on July 28, 2026. The update introduces performance improvements, including the removal of Redis-based session management and the use of HTTP headers for logging and security scanning. These changes enable better scalability and simplified external integrations for AI-assisted development tools.
The Copilot cloud agent for Linear has reached general availability. The integration allows users to assign issues directly to the autonomous agent, which analyzes content, initiates pull requests via GitHub Actions, and tracks progress within the Linear timeline. Users can configure the agent's behavior, including model selection and branch targeting, directly from the Linear interface. It is included for customers with Copilot Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise subscriptions.
