Cohere has released Cohere Transcribe Arabic, an open-source, enterprise-grade automatic speech recognition (ASR) model. Built upon the company's 2B frontier ASR model, the new version is optimized for Arabic language nuances, including various regional dialects, code-switching, and bilingual Arabic-English speech. It is available under an Apache 2.0 license and is designed for high-throughput production environments. The model outperforms existing open-source alternatives on the Open Universal Arabic ASR leaderboard, achieving a word error rate of 25.87.
