Abnormal AI has launched optical character recognition (OCR) scanning for images within PowerPoint attachments. This update is designed to identify callback-fraud and brand-impersonation lures embedded in presentation files.
Abnormal AI implemented a change to its AI Security Mailbox (AISM) wherein messages reported by users as "Not Junk" will no longer trigger automatic responses. While auto-notices are suppressed, the messages remain subject to full analysis and are visible within the AISM portal. This update is currently live for Microsoft customers.
Abnormal AI released several detection enhancements, including QR-code scanning for base64-encoded images in calendar invites and improved attachment analysis using rich-text embeddings. The platform also updated its account takeover detection to identify suspicious patterns involving combined password resets and new MFA device registrations from anomalous IP addresses.
