Superagent: The Autonomous Security Factory

Meet Superagent, the security platform that tests code and agents, prepares fixes and adds guardrails around production tools.

The code ships faster. Security has to keep up.

A coding agent opens a pull request. A production agent reads a customer document and calls a tool. Both can create security work that reaches beyond a final answer or a single changed file.

Superagent brings that work into an autonomous security factory: check changes, investigate attack paths, prepare fixes and protect the agents running in production. [1]

The platform works through its API, MCP and developer tools, with engineers reviewing the changes that reach their codebase. [1][2]

Before the merge and after the deploy

PR Security checks changes before they merge. Dependency updates arrive as tested fixes, while red teaming investigates paths an attacker could use across the application. [1]

In production, Context Guardrails checks external material before an agent reads it. Runtime Guardrails applies policies as the agent works with tools and data. [1]

Superagent also builds Security-One, a 27-billion-parameter security model for first-pass classification and triage. It helps route security events into the investigation that follows. [5]

Those pieces support the same chain: spot a problem, collect the evidence, prepare a response and give the team something it can act on. [1]

Capchase: secure the document before the agent reads it

Capchase uses agents around its B2B payments and financial operations. External documents can carry instructions that should never become instructions to the agent itself. [3]

Context Guardrails checks that material before the agent consumes it. Superagent also supplies code and pull-request scanning, dependency checks and red-team findings. [3]

Capchase routes findings to its own agents for triage. They reproduce the issue, gather evidence and prepare it for human review before the fix is approved. [3]

Lead Engineer Daniel Füvesi highlights the value of keeping engineers focused on the product while security work continues alongside it. [3]

dotenvx: turn the attack path into a patch

At dotenvx, creator and maintainer Scott Motte uses Superagent for continuing adversarial testing. Superagent follows connected exploit paths and produces patches the maintainer can review upstream. [4]

The team keeps control of the merge and coordinates disclosure. The finding does not stop at a scanner alert; it travels through reproduction, a proposed fix and review. [4]

Motte reported that patches had already landed a week before a threat-intelligence scanner flagged the same vulnerability. The maintainer’s review and coordinated disclosure remained part of the process. [4]

Built for AI-native development

Alan Zabihi and Ismail Pelaseyed have worked together for more than 15 years. They founded Superagent and joined Y Combinator’s Winter 2024 batch. [6]

The product now covers both the code agents help create and the agents acting inside an application. Developers can use it from their existing coding tools and through API or MCP integrations. [1]

Public repositories can use Superagent for free. Private-repository plans use credits, with pricing based on the security work performed. [2]

The company is building security into the pace of development: a continuing process of testing, fixing and enforcing the boundaries around the system. [1]

Where Superagent ranks

Current rankings. Positions come from public evidence, and no company can pay for a place. How we rank

The bigger picture

A team needs the vulnerability fixed and the agent’s next action kept within its permissions. [1]

Superagent is bringing those jobs into the tools where developers build and operate their software. [1][3]
